Diana Morningstar Digital Graphics

About Me

My name is Diana Morningstar and I live in the Russian River area, where redwoods meet the wine country. I have been experimenting with 3D computer graphics since the mid nineties when Bryce was released. Lately I have been teaching 3D graphics at a local charter school. It has been rewarding to turn on young minds to the visioning technology that's now become commonly available. These days freeware offerings can give you everything you need to find the 3D artist or virtual sculptor within you. My beginning classes emphasize getting started with these free tools. If you can get good results with them, it's time to move up to more expensive wares.

Like so many 3D artists, I started out getting hooked on Bryce, and then moving on to other 3D rendering environments, notably Vue from E-on Software. While Bryce's features have been eclipsed by more advanced (and more expensive) products out there, it remains relevant today, especially to the low budget artist. (Which is a lot of artists out there!) I believe in making computer art creation accessible to everyone on the web, and I salute those who have made free tools available online. The computer art that future critical opinion considers the classics of our age may be taking shape today on a hand me down computer using freeware, not necessarily in a shiny workstation with all the latest software.

Another holy grail

In addition to my 3D graphic art, I also provide web designs and code database sites. See below a partial list of websites I have created:

  • Greenway Distillers
Home of the legendary Crispin's Rose Liqueur and that subtle, intriguing absinthe from Germain Robin.
  • Rayluma Art Gallery
In Louisville, KY (no longer open)
  • Diaz & Company
Simple business site with database integrated referral form. I have developed an online case management system for this office as well.
  • Tauhindauli Park
Site created in 2001 with students at Dunsmuir High School as part of a class project.
